Moving Checklists

Ready to move? We want to make things easy for you.

No matter whether you're a new tenant preparing to move into one of our homes, or you're saying goodbye for now, we've compiled these checklists to answer some of the commonly asked questions we receive. Please read through the checklists to make your move as easy as possible. Of course, if you have additional questions, you can always reach us by calling our offices: (612) 703-8874

Move-in Checklist

Congratulations on your new rental home! It's important to keep the following keys in mind:

First Month's Rent & Security Deposit

Your first month's rent payment and your security deposit must be paid at the lease signing.

Move-in Date & Inspection

The move-in date and any necessary inspections will be scheduled when you sign the lease. We will also handle the key exchange at that time.

Utilities

Please place all utility accounts for the property in your name immediately upon signing the lease. If you take too long, utility access may be temporarily disrupted and you may encounter administrative fees.

Move-out Checklist

We're always sad to say goodbye to good tenants, but we wish you the best of luck moving forward. Please review the move-out information carefully.

Notice of Intent to Vacate

Planning to leave your rental home?  We ask that you provide written notice of your intent to vacate the home. This will allow us to make sure everything regarding your departure is handled properly.

Property Condition

Your home should be in the same condition after your tenancy as the day you signed the lease, beyond normal wear and tear. Please make sure the following has been properly addressed:

  • Rental Cleaning: All rooms in your property should be thoroughly cleaned before you return the keys. No personal belongings can be left behind. Be careful to properly clean kitchens and bathroom spaces, where additional sanitization likely needs to occur.
  • Landscaping & Outdoor Areas: If you have outdoor space, please take care of any responsibilities on your plate once more before you move. This may include mowing the law, disposing of trash, etc.
  • Repairs: If any damage has occurred during your stay, take the necessary steps to repair the problem. Patch holes left by nails and screws, replace burnt light bulbs, and repaint if necessary.

Security Deposit

We conduct a final inspection when you leave the rental property. We will look for any damage, and should we discover any problems, schedule repair visits. All expenses for such visits will be deducted from your security deposit.

The remainder will be returned to you as quickly as possible.
